In his latest Data Points blog post, Boise School District Superintendent Dr. Don Coberly takes a closer look at the results from a just-completed survey of a proposed modification to the 2018-19 school calendar.

With a focus on student achievement, the District is considering modifying the 2018-19 calendar to end First Semester prior to the Winter Holiday Break, which will result in ending the school year before the Memorial Day weekend - the last week of May.

The results of the school calendar poll administered last month show 85% of Boise District patrons and staff in favor of the calendar modification proposal. If implemented, the new school calendar would go into effect for the 2018-19 school year.

Data Points is dedicated to providing student achievement and education trend analysis and is intended for parents and patrons interested in an objective, data-driven look at student performance in Boise and across Idaho.
